Maintain Control. Survive The Ground.

No program can prevent all injuries. The demands of this sport bears little resemblance to everyday life, and gravity pursuits are dangerous no matter your skill level. We can mitigate (but never fully protect against) the danger with preparation that matches the sport. Here's how it works:

Bone, muscle, tendon, and ligament tissue adapts to repeated stress, and this is how we getting better throughout a season. However, our bodies cannot maintain all our adaptions & gains from the season over a summer, let alone a year. The closer we can get to imposing forces found to skiing or riding in our preparation, the better our body will respond to these forces out on the hill.

My background is as a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer in the United States, Licensed in the state of Colorado. Athletic Trainers are Healthcare providers who collaborate with physicians and other Healthcare professionals. Athletic Trainers work in interdisciplinary Healthcare teams to provide evidence-based care that encompasses risk reduction, critical incident response, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and Rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.

While I will not provide medical advice on this page, I have the background required to provide risk reduction, wellness promotion & health literacy propagation. My job is as an educator first. Skiing and mountain biking are my passions, and I am happy to provide information that will help athletes thrive in these crazy sports.
